Today post is in collaboration with Vouchercodes.co.uk for their most wanted page, they asked if I would like to cherry pick from this years spring/summer trends for the home, with a budget of £80-£90 and here's what I came up with.
I think the trends for the home this year are really quite exciting, they feel fresh and energizing, colours range from pastels to neon mixed with greys and dark dirty jades, shapes are geometric, triangles, arrows, as well as ikat designs. Little houses seem to come in all forms from shelving to little penny boxes.
Greens used in colour but also in 'being green' watch out for organic products, conscious sustainable style, organic cottons and linen, as well as baskets weaved from vegetable products. Other materials include wood, we may have been painting over wood a year or so ago, but now we are stripping back to bare, preferably blond, but mixed with a little white.
Personally I'm really into Scandi/Danish styling at the moment, with brands such as Ferm Living and Bloomingville amongst my favorites, but Urban outfitters have caught my eye with the new online furniture store, and B&Q has got my pulse going a little faster of late, one to watch for in the UK over the coming months for budget buys.
I've chosen items that will easily add an up to date feel to my home, but will last well after the trends have passed, I love the shape of the B&Q shade, it has a Scandinavian feel to it, great hung over a dinning table. Baskets never go out of fashion and are always useful for keys and loose change, they are also useful for adding textures to a room, adding interest.
I already have some little wooden houses so I'd create a display using the house shaped money box on a window sill or a shelf. You can never have too many blankets and throws, use on your sofa or the bed to snuggle, and in the spring take outside and enjoy a picnic on. A good quality chopping board will last you practically for ever if you look after it, and this house shaped board is a great update for the kitchen, adds a fun feel, and useful too. For a quick modern trend update, these cushions with their triangles stripes and dots, are perfect.

My no.1 item to buy though, would be the Urban outfitter rug, its such a steal at £35.00, and with this arrow head design can't fail to be a real show stopper, perfect for my white living room.
