This circular white plate/tray was originally the tray that spins round in the microwave, the microwave packed up ages ago, but I kept this tray as it was too good to just chuck out with the oven, so now it gets used for various things. serving tray, a base for my IKEA vase, for candles, etc etc.

Charity shop treasures.
Image photography Samantha Stansbridge (me)
Among other things, I bought these trainers this morning from the charity shop, by daughter calls them old school, but I love them. Perhaps worn with a skirt like the ones below.
Old and new finds
I love it when we take a trip to france and I come across things that I can bring home with me, a wander around a car boot sale (vide grenier) resulted in a few finds, a lovely slightly worn wooden box was a great find and a huge sloe gin jar (similar to Bloomingville bottles) which unfortunately got smashed before we could get it in the car, apparently my face was a picture when it happened and everyone else found it hugely amusing and fell about laughing, partly because we'd already had the conversation about getting it home in one piece would it make it or not!
I can console myself that we at least got a trip in to visit IKEA and I bought a few things there, one being the spotty cushion cover above. I love mixing new things and second hand, and old crates are a great way to add a bit of a rustic feel, also great for storage or used as shelves and little coffee tables.
Great previously loved pieces.
I've been having a bit of a clear out at home at the last few days, the warmer weather and sunshine seems to make me want to open up the space at home and let the light in, so its out with the old, but in with a couple of new things. While posting things online for sale and donating things for charity I couldn't help taking a look at what other's had on offer, and so this white faux fur rug along with some baskets made their way into our home.
Charity shops, second hand sale sites, and car boot sales can be a great way to furnish a home, even the street sometimes can offer up things, the little set of drawers were actually thrown out on the street and in perfectly good condition, and now at home in my office/craft room.
The baskets will make great storage, and I think the cat might have her eye on my little fur rug. Have you come across any great bargains lately? are you planning a bit of a clear out this weekend?
