Favorite Things From Out There Interiors

Working a Nordic/Retro style here with some favorite pieces picked out from Out There Interiors. The retro inspired  wicker chair reminds me of my child hood as I had a little red one just like it, and who doesn't love to take a swivel in an egg chair, seriously, I defy anybody to sit in one and not be tempted to give it a little twirl while pretending to be the leading guy or gal  in a James Bond film or such like, would you play the goodie or the baddie?
When it comes to glass ware, I've  noticed  a trend in faceted glass lately, and I love the two glass lamps pictured, particularly the Hexagonal one, which I'm sure would look fab when switched on.

House Doctor 2015

There is nothing I like more then visiting an interiors show, but  sadly I very rarely get the chance to travel to one, so today I'm taking a virtual tour by way of a few  Instagramers  and Facebook  and I'm checking out one of my favorite  brands, House Doctor who have been at the Formex fair this week.   I'm always a little excited when the new spring trends start to emerge, and wonder how each year designers manage to top the previous one, but my goodness they always do!
Every Day 2015 feels fresh and inviting with an emphasis on hues of greens and greys, playing with shape, volume, sculptural details and offbeat art objects, I'm also noticing that green plants feature heavily this year, not only in the House Doctor range but interiors in general.
What trends are catching your eye this year?

A spoil myself moment...

I don't know what I love the most about my new chair,  the fabulous wooden dowel legs with contrasting black metal struts,  or the way the surprisingly comfortable  molded seat hugs my bottom! either way I'm totally smitten with my new Eames DSW chair, from Amara.com

New Finds, Table General Stores

Images from Table General Stores Instagram page

On our recent travels to Guernsey last weekend we  enjoyed a bit of shopping on the cobblestoned streets of St. Peter Port and to my delight  discovered a new home and Interiors store, named Table General Stores.   I just love these kinds of shops, with a mix of rustic and industrial finds, something a little different from the usual, they always make me happy.

Table General Stores opened its doors back in March of this year (2014) and is run by  Ginny Morgan and Charlotte Barnes, the shop sits  in Guernsey's Commercial Arcade in St. Peter Port, and sells a mix of crafted and   utilitarian products  from all over the world, including Chocolate all the way from the USA by  Rick and Michael Mast, Fog Linen by Yumiko Sekine, as well as locally made goods. (Check out the website for more People Behind the Products info)

A set of Festoon lights somehow made their  way home with me, now all that has to be done is find a place for them to live!

I'll let you into a little secret, my youngest daughter got married just over a year ago and moved to Guernsey with her American Husband,   and ever since she left I've been on the look out for a new sofa bed so that once in a while they can come home for a long weekend, and we can have movie nights together curled up on the sofa eating popcorn and chocolate, and I wouldn't even mind the minor upheaval in the living room for the weekend, so long as I get  to have her home for a while because I miss her.....
How do you like to spend your time on the sofa? everyone snuggled up watching your favourite movie together, or perhaps just some you time reading a book?

It's finally stopped raining, the wind has died down, and the sun is shining!  I'm in the mood for some spring interior inspiration.  Time to clear the decks and get organised with some simple storage solutions, and inject some pretty spring colours and mix with a light coloured wooden surface to lift the mood.
Open shelf storage boxes are very on trend at the moment create you own combinations  for  useful storage ideas such as in the  hallway  for  shoes.
Bring the outside in with some green foliage, make hooks more fun with colour and don't you just love those little wooden birds?  Add a pop of colour in the form of a magazine rack nestled by a comfy spot on the sofa.
